Hi!
I'd like to welcome you to my new blog, dedicated to what I believe is the most important issue facing us today: home cooking for children!
It's obvious that the feeding and nutrition of children is incredibly important. I'd say it's the most important feature of raising a healthy, happy child.
Sadly, many parents are unable to give children the nutrition they need. Whether it's too much junk food, or just plain not enough food, there are children who are being nutritionally neglected up and down the country.
So what I would like to see is a general scheme to force parents to register themselves with the local authority, which will allow appointed nutritional officers to check that their cooking facilities are up to scratch and that they are providing the children currently in their care with a broad and balanced diet.
We're not saying that parents have to send their children for at least one meal a day to some government run canteen (though it's not a bad idea!), just that, say, once a year, their dietary plans get a thorough going over for either a stamp of approval, or a statutory enforcement of an approved diet.
I know, some will say that this is something like a "nanny state", but let's face it, IF IT SAVES JUST ONE CHILD FROM STARVATION, HUNGER, OBESITY OR RAISED RISK OF CHRONIC DISEASE LATER IN LIFE, IT WILL BE WORTH IT!
I know this may not be a popular idea among the "home cooking" crowd, so that's why I am keeping this blog anonymous (believe me, they can be a RIGHT bunch of nutters when stirred! Or should I say "whisked! LOL!").
If you want to join me in my crusade to SAVE THE CHILDREN OF BRITAIN, let me know in comments! I'll be in touch!
